Dizplay Platform
1
Live View – Edit with Confidence
Dizplay is a true live editing experience. I designed a minimal interface that would compliment a full "live view" experience.
2
Top Bar
The top bar keeps common actions like publish, revert, analytics, focus-mode, public view and more all right at the user's finger tips.
3
The Panel
The panel is designed to float above the page. It shows the user the "Blocks" (or sections) that compose the page. The user can rearrange, edit, and delete existing blocks. They can also add new blocks from the "Block Library" button.
The user can access many of the apps features via this panel.
1
Theming + Mode
I designed our theming based on what we call "color ramps". All of our blocks make use of the core colors Base, Accent, and Neutral. But the user can add additional colors easily which appear for use in our block color system.
2
Go Light or Dark
Light & Dark modes are built into each block, so when the user toggles between modes, each block responds accordingly.
1
Block Color Panel
We've designed a unique system managing colors within blocks. This allows each block to expose whatever colors are allowed for the user to customize.
2
Harmony
Every block has it's own set of colors exposed but each block utilizes the theme colors by default so it always looks beautiful and cohesive.
1
Frames – Wrapping Content
Our "Frames" feature is designed to make it easy to set a default header and footer. But the user can also add additional blocks above or below the content. Every page that applies the "Default" frame (in this case) would have the additional blocks added as well. Great for adding a global banner across pages, or a common call to action.
2
Content
There are no blocks rendered in this view. It's focus is what wraps the content of a page.

Dizplay Platform
As a designer and developer, I've used a lot of content management systems to build a lot of website over the years. For example, Textpattern, MoveableType, Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, ExpressionEngine, Statamic, and Kirby. I've learned a variety of things by using all of these tools. Each have their pros and cons. The biggest thing I've learned is that most are bloated and overwhelming to most users.
So, my buddy Jeremy and I have been building our own platform to rapidly build sites (and apps) with a goal to make it faster and more flexible. And, most importantly, to make it simpler. In fact, we built most of it in about 3 weeks. 😵 And this very site is built with it. Learn More.
